Our Goals at the Center

In the Sand Creek Tutoring Center, we aim to help all learners at any ability level. We provide students with: 

  • peer driven instruction

  • individualized instruction on core subject concepts

  • assistance with classroom assignments

  • elevated material to move you beyond your current educational framework

  • a place to work individually or in small group settings

 

 

Mission Statement: 

The mission of the Sand Creek Tutoring Center is to give instruction to every learner at every stage of the learning process. Using one-on-one techniques and guiding questions in a comfortable learning environment, we aim to develop and enhance the quality of instruction at Sand Creek High School. 

The Learning Commons: Enhancing your Learning at the Next Level

 

 

With the expansion of the Tutoring Center, we have reconstructed the function of the library. Now the learning commons, this location is a wonderful place to get homework done, work on group projects, receive tutoring, or simply read on your down time. 

 

Our new features of the center include the following resources: 

 

  • Presentation Station

    • work on presentations with a screen and projector

  • Brainstorming Hub

    • Use our whiteboard tables to solve problems and map solutions

  • Printing Stations

    • available to get your work in on time

  • Private Tutoring Centers

    • For additional help with concepts or assignments

  • Individual Work Stations

    • For the quiet workers

  • Research 

    • Check out an iPad or laptop to do your reasearch with mobility

If you would like to be a tutor, ask about our certification program. You can become a tutor in the center and recieve credit or community service for your time spent tutoring.
